God’s Creation of the Earth – Let There Be Light!

Genesis 1: 3-5

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning— the first day.

Learning Objectives

• Draw the moon and stars and God’s green earth.

• Learn about creation.

• Learn about warm and cool colors.

• Practice mixing colors.

• Use wet-in-wet technique in watercolor.

Materials

• 11” x 18” construction paper or watercolor paper

• Pencils

• Erasers

• Watercolor paint

• Paintbrushes

• Water containers

• Paper towels

• Fine-point black permanent markers

• Color markers

• Hair dryer (not necessary, but helpful)

• Spray bottles
