Drip Flowers and Watercolor Paintings
Who doesn’t like a field of wildflowers? We have created two lessons for ages 5 – 11 years old. Of course as an adult I really enjoyed creating the paintings also. As an artist, I love to doodle!
Wildflowers are so free and beautiful. A field has hundreds of individual flowers. Do you ever feel as if you are like a flower in a field of flowers? A small person in a large crowd? Even though one flower can be lost in a field, God still took the time to create it from scratch. God is wonderful and creative, and as we walk with Him, we become creative too. God loves and takes care of the flowers in the fields. God loves each of us more than the flowers, and He promises to take care of His children. This doesn’t mean bad things will not happen. It means God will be with each of us every step of the way if you ask Him to be with you.
Grades K- 2 will love the drip flower and watercolor painting lesson.
Grades 3rd – 6th will love to take the drip flowers to the next level by adding lines and shapes.
This mixed media project is a very easy and fun way to create a field of wildflowers with watercolor paint and permanent markers. Students can also learn more about lines, textures, and shapes. Many students have taken the art to the next level and created zentangle flowers. It is always good to have lots of doodle examples for each table.
