Being thankful is so important. I write in my gratitude journal every day. Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for all we have. What I am grateful for the most is that day we celebrate Thanksgiving. My husband is not home for Thanksgiving Day because of his job. So with our family, we have Thanksgiving on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Thursday. At first it was strange, but over the years as my child became a teenager, it is our favorite day of the year. Let me tell you why.

My daughter gets to ask all of her friends over for a big feast, and we are talking anywhere from 4 to 10 kids. Since we do Thanksgiving on Sunday they are not with their own families and they all show up. Now that my daughter is in college, these kids fly in from all over the country and show up for our new tradition Thanksgiving on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Thursday.
