Many of my favorite paint brushes can be found at stores like Hobby Lobby! I appreciate affordability and the many choices they have for all different paint formulas. Especially when creating fine art, variety in brush heads is so important - this does not mean however that you need to go and buy every single possible width though. Sticking with diverse sizes and orientations is best so that you can create unique shapes and focus on angles more importantly verses the width of your brush stroke!

You may have grown to know me over the years or if you're new here, my name is Karen Brake Barge and I am the creator/artist behind the curriculum and designs.

I started Christian Art Lessons in November of 2014 (I can't believe it's been 8 fulfilling years) with the intention to create a faith-filled and fun learning environment for children that has now evolved into serving all ages!

I love teaching others how to express themselves creatively and to draw inspiration from the goodness God places in our lives, so that we can share the same joy in exciting and tangible ways.

Art is invaluable, it is the basis for every part of our life from the clothes we wear, to the cars we drive, to the furniture that makes up our home, to even the cell phones we use to communicate with each other daily. Every inanimate object begins with a design or a concept expressed through artistic abilities.

This doesn't even begin to scratch the surface which is why I came up with this guide explaining the reasons how teaching your child the fundamentals of art is beyond impactful and how it can translate to them in their adult lives.
